📋 The Eibli's Angelfish (Centropyge eibli), also known as the Red Stripe, Blacktail, or Orangeline Angelfish, is a genuinely striking dwarf angelfish with a pearly grey-white body crossed by evenly spaced orange-red vertical stripes, orange-tinted eyes, and a jet-black tail outlined in electric blue.
Native to reef slopes across the Indo-Pacific, from Indonesia and Sri Lanka to Fiji and northwest Australia, this species is one of the larger members of the Centropyge genus, genuinely bigger than popular relatives like the Coral Beauty.
Eibli's Angelfish are considered reef safe with caution — it may occasionally nip at soft and stony corals, sessile invertebrates, and clam mantles, so this varies between individuals and reef compatibility is never guaranteed. It's also a genuinely territorial species toward its own kind and other dwarf angelfish — keep only one per tank, and if introducing alongside other Centropyge species, add them all simultaneously for the best chance of a stable outcome. One honest feeding note: some specimens can be a little slow to accept prepared foods initially, so offering a variety of foods a few times daily, including algae sheets tucked under rockwork, genuinely helps new arrivals settle in.
With ample live rock, a varied diet, and thoughtful stocking, it thrives as a Striking Striped Reef Display Fish.
