⚠️ Important Information — Please Read First

We want to be genuinely upfront on this one. Multiple expert sources describe this species as basically unsuitable for most home aquariums, genuinely being more of a public-aquarium-scale fish. It grows to a genuinely large adult size of up to 38cm, is a natural schooling species that does best in numbers rather than alone, and will genuinely decimate a tank's benthic invertebrate population in a short period of time. It's also a genuine jumper, and may require deworming before introduction given documented parasite loads in wild-caught specimens. Please speak with our team in detail about what this species genuinely requires before considering it.

📋 The Goldstripe Goatfish, also known as the Yellowfin Goatfish or Banded Goatfish, has a genuinely attractive white-to-pale-pink body with a blue-margined yellow stripe running from the eye to the tail base, a short yellow bar on the cheek, and yellow fins throughout.

Native to a genuinely wide range across the Indo-Pacific, this species is naturally found in large schools over sandy reef bottoms and lagoons, foraging with its characteristic chin barbels at night for small worms and crustaceans.

We want to be upfront: this species is not reef safe, and will genuinely consume ornamental crustaceans and small fish in addition to its natural benthic invertebrate diet. It's genuinely rarely offered in the aquarium trade given its scale and schooling needs, and is best suited to very large, dedicated systems rather than typical home tanks.
