Marine Reef-Safe Schooling Bottom-Sifter • Pale Silvery-Yellow Body With a Bold Golden Stripe & a Pair of Sensory Chin Barbels • Genuinely Changes Colour to Blend Into Schools of Other Fish • Beginner-Friendly Marine Fish

📋 The Yellow Goatfish, also known as the Yellowfin Goatfish, Goldstripe Goatfish, or Yellowstripe Goatfish, has a genuinely elongated, cylindrical pale silvery-to-yellow body with a bold, blue-margined golden stripe running from the eye to the tail, and a genuinely distinctive pair of long, sensory barbels beneath the chin, used to detect prey buried in the sand.

Native to the tropical and subtropical Indo-Pacific, this species genuinely occurs in large daytime schools around coral reefs and sandy areas.

We want to share a genuinely fascinating fact: in the Red Sea, this species is genuinely documented schooling alongside common bluestripe snappers during the day, and will even change its own colouration to more closely resemble them — disbanding at night to feed alone, using its barbels to detect small buried invertebrates. This is a genuinely hardy, peaceful species that adapts well to aquarium life, and it's fully reef safe, sifting through sand in search of food without harming corals or sessile invertebrates.
