🐟 Kawarimono Koi (Cyprinus rubrofuscus)
The Most Varied and Unusual Koi • Rich Solid Colours and Rare Patterns • A Unique Character Fish for Your Pond
📋 The Kawarimono Koi, from the Japanese for "different things", brings together some of the most unusual and characterful koi of all. It includes rich solid colours like the bronze Chagoi, grey Soragoi and mustard Karashigoi, the deep red Benigoi, and striking patterns like the black-and-white Kumonryu and the autumn-toned Ochiba Shigure, so every fish is something different.
It's a captive-bred ornamental koi, developed in Japan from the Amur carp. Every Kawarimono Koi we ship is feeding well.
This is a peaceful, sociable pond fish, and many Kawarimono, especially the Chagoi, are famous for being the friendliest koi in the pond, often the first to come to your hand and leading the others to feed. It's long-lived, hardy and grows into a true pond centrepiece, reaching up to 90cm, so a pond of 4,000L or more suits it well.
