📋 The Linear Blenny, also known as the Lined Blenny, has a distinctive bold dark stripe running from eye to tail over a lighter, white-to-tan body, with a pair of slender cirri above the eyes.
It comes from shallow coastal and outer reef crests across the Indo-Pacific, from East Africa to the Philippines and Fiji, spending its day perched on live rock, grazing algae and darting into crevices when startled. Every Linear Blenny we ship is feeding well.
It's reef safe with caution, and this species may nip at SPS corals like Acropora and Montipora, particularly in tanks with small, immature colonies, so caution is warranted in SPS-dominant systems. It's also worth knowing that this species requires a diet high in vegetable matter; we maintain every specimen on a rich algae-based diet, and recommend consistent supplementation with algae-based foods at home if aquarium algae alone isn't sufficient. It's a peaceful species that does best with equally calm tankmates, since even moderately aggressive fish can intimidate it away from food. It reaches up to 9cm, so a 115L tank suits it well.
