📋 The Yasha Shrimp Goby, also known as the Yasha Goby, has a genuinely unparalleled personality for its tiny size, with a pearly-white body marked by vibrant, broken orange-to-red horizontal stripes, yellow fins, and a genuinely striking, pronounced and curved white dorsal fin.
Native to the deeper rubble slopes of the Western Pacific, from Japan south through the Philippines, this species genuinely lives at depths of 15 to 60 metres, emerging from its burrow to hover in the water column and pick off passing zooplankton.
This species genuinely forms a real documented partnership specifically with the Candy Cane Pistol Shrimp (Alpheus randalli), in which the shrimp maintains the shared burrow while the goby stands watch, alerting its nearly blind partner to potential threats. This is genuinely one of the most popular gobies in the entire hobby, being a real hardy, easy-care species with a shy but hovering, characterful presence. We want to be honest that it's genuinely a known jumper, so a secure lid is essential, and it can be kept in pairs, though individuals of the same sex — particularly two males in a smaller tank — will genuinely fight.
