The Yellowline Goby, also known as the Barber Goby or Gold Neon Goby, has a sleek, dark-to-black body with bold yellow horizontal stripes running from head to tail and opaque blue pectoral fins, closely resembling the classic Neon Cleaner Goby but with yellow rather than blue lines. In the wild it functions as a real cleaner fish, picking parasites and dead scales off larger fish at dedicated cleaning stations. Every Yellowline Goby we ship is feeding well.
An interesting fact: this species is capable of hybridising with the Neon Goby, producing a documented Hybrid Cleaner Goby. This is a peaceful, hardy species that continues its natural cleaning behaviour in the aquarium, generally welcomed by larger fish, though it can become territorial toward its own kind unless kept as a confirmed mated pair. It's fully reef safe, and well suited to nano and pico reef setups given its small adult size. It reaches up to 3.4cm, so a 40L tank suits it well.
