📋 The Bicolor Dottyback, also known as the Royal Dottyback, is a small but strikingly coloured marine fish with a bold purple-to-pink front half and a vivid yellow rear half, a pattern often confused with the Royal Gramma at a glance, though the two are unrelated.
It comes from reefs across the Central Indo-Pacific, where it lives among rock and coral rubble, claiming a burrow or crevice as its home base. Every Bicolor Dottyback we ship is feeding well, and it's a hardy, easy-to-keep fish.
It's a confident, territorial character that defends its home with real conviction, so choose assertive tankmates that can hold their own, and add it as one of your last fish to an established community. It's reef safe with corals, but it will eat small ornamental shrimp, so plan your clean-up crew with that in mind. It reaches up to 8cm, so a 115L tank suits it well.
