📋 The Firetail Dottyback, also known as the Orangetail Dottyback, has a vivid purple-blue body that transitions into a bright orange-red tail, the source of its common name.
It's native to Australia, and it's only an occasional find in the aquarium trade, making it a real rarity compared with more commonly available dottybacks. Every Firetail Dottyback we ship is feeding well.
It's secretive at first, darting between rocky hiding places and crevices, then grows bolder with time into a good tankmate for a dottyback, though it may still pester smaller, more docile fish. It's fully reef safe and won't harm corals or sessile invertebrates. It's extremely fast-moving too, which makes it a lively, engaging fish to watch once it settles in. It reaches about 6cm, so plan on at least 115L.
