🐠 Elongate Dottyback (Pseudochromis elongatus)

Marine Reef-Safe Nano Dottyback • Black Body With a Red-to-Orange Head & Tail • Genuinely Rarely Imported • Beginner-Friendly Marine Fish

📋 The Elongate Dottyback, also known as the Red Elongated Dottyback or Floppy-Tail Dottyback, has a genuinely striking dark brown-to-black body with a contrasting red-to-orange head and tail.

Native to the Western Pacific, this species is genuinely known only from Sulawesi and the Molucca Islands of Indonesia, making it a rarely imported species in the aquarium trade.

This is a genuinely hardy, easy-to-feed dottyback that readily accepts pellet and frozen foods. We want to be honest that it's genuinely secretive when first introduced, needing rocky hiding places and crevices to feel secure, though it becomes noticeably bolder with time, developing into a genuinely fairly good tankmate for a dottyback provided its companions are slightly larger and moderately assertive. It's fully reef safe, and genuinely appears considerably less aggressive than many other dottyback species, making it a real fit for today's popular nano reef tanks. We want to be upfront that it may still annoy smaller, more timid fish, and should be kept singly given its territorial nature.
