📋 The Neon Dottyback, also known as the Orange or Arabian Dottyback, has a striking bright orange body marked with electric-blue stripes running from the mouth along the head and the top of the dorsal fin.
It comes from the Western Indian Ocean, around the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, and south to the Aldabra Islands in the Seychelles, which gives the species its scientific name. It has a healthy appetite for bristleworms, which helps keep that common nuisance in check, and it's bolder than many other dottybacks, spending more time out in the open instead of hiding. Every Neon Dottyback we ship is feeding well.
It's reef safe with caution: it won't harm coral tissue, but it will eat bristleworms and may compete with other zooplankton feeders. Like most dottybacks it's territorial, so add it as one of your final fish, and keep it alone or as a mated pair, away from small, timid tankmates. It reaches about 9cm, so plan on at least 115L.
