⚠️ Important Information — Please Read First

We want to be genuinely upfront on this one. This species genuinely grows quite large, reaching up to 50cm (around 20") in the wild, and multiple expert sources genuinely recommend a minimum aquarium size of 180 gallons or larger, given both its adult size and status as a messy, heavy eater. Please only consider this species with a serious, concrete long-term plan for its eventual large size.

📋 The Coral Hind, also known as the Miniata Grouper or Coral Grouper, has a genuinely dazzling appearance — a vibrant red-to-orange body covered head to tail in small, electric blue spots.

Native to a genuinely wide range across the Indo-Pacific, from the Red Sea and East Africa to the central Pacific, this species inhabits clear-water coral reefs, often in exposed rather than sheltered areas, at depths of 2 to 150 metres.

This is a genuinely ambush predator, striking upward from the substrate to catch small fish and crustaceans, and naturally forms harems of one dominant male with up to twelve females in the wild. We want to be honest that it may initially be somewhat shy, but genuinely becomes noticeably more social and confident over the following weeks. It's fully reef safe with corals, but we want to be upfront that it will genuinely consume smaller fish and invertebrates, so tank mates need real care in selection and should be of a similar size.
