📋 The Decorated Goby has an intricate, mottled body, brownish on the upper half, grading to white below, with a honeycomb-like pattern of dark scale margins and a midlateral row of double dark spots.
It comes from a wide range across the Indo-West Pacific, from the Persian Gulf and Red Sea to Samoa, north to Taiwan, and south to Lord Howe Island, inhabiting sandy bottoms and rubble areas near coral reefs. Every Decorated Goby we ship is feeding well.
This is an active, ornate substrate-dwelling goby that roams the sand searching for food, and can even swim up into the water column to feed. It's fully reef safe and generally peaceful, though it can occasionally nip at corals, and is best housed singly and away from aggressive tankmates like groupers, dottybacks, or triggerfish. It's also a capable jumper, so a secure lid matters. It reaches up to 13cm, so a 115L tank suits it well.
