🐠 Dracula Shrimp Goby (Stonogobiops dracula)
Marine Reef-Safe Nano Goby • Cream-White Body With Alternating Red-Orange Bands • Genuine Pistol Shrimp Partnership • Beginner-Friendly Marine Fish
📋 The Dracula Shrimp Goby , also known as the Dracula Goby, has a genuinely striking cream-white body marked with alternating thick and thin dark red-orange bands, a yellow forehead, and a rounded dorsal fin.
Native to reef environments around the Seychelles and Maldives in the Indian Ocean, this species inhabits areas of rubble or sand near reefs at depths of roughly 15 to 37 metres.
A genuinely charming natural partnership defines this species: it forms a real symbiotic relationship with the nearly blind Candy Pistol Shrimp (Alpheus randalli), sharing a burrow the shrimp maintains while the goby stands guard, alerting its partner to danger. This is a genuinely rare and prized species in the trade given its striking looks and specialised behaviour. It's fully reef safe and genuinely less shy than many other small gobies, often seen poking confidently out of its burrow throughout the day. We want to be honest that it's genuinely a capable jumper and can be easily spooked before settling in, so a secure, tight-fitting lid matters.
