📋 The Ghost Goby, also known as the Pale Sand Goby or Transparent Cave Goby, has a pale, almost spectral body, sometimes near-transparent, marked with subtle iridescent highlights and mottled markings, the source of its evocative common name.
It comes from a wide range across the Indo-West Pacific, from the eastern coast of Africa to the Philippines, inhabiting sandy or rubble areas near coral reefs. Every Ghost Goby we ship is feeding well.
This is an active, bottom-dwelling species that perches on sand or rubble, adding real movement and interest to a reef sand bed. It's fully reef safe, and adapts well to a wide range of water conditions, making it a flexible, hardy choice for both beginner and experienced aquarists. This species does best without others of its own kind sharing the tank, and benefits from roughly one square foot of tank space per individual to establish its own territory without conflict. It's seldom seen in the trade, adding to its appeal as an elusive, distinctive addition. It reaches up to 7.5cm, so a 40L tank suits it well.
