🐠 Hi Fin Red Banded Goby (Stonogobiops nematodes)

Marine Reef-Safe Nano Shrimp Goby • Silver-White Body With Yellow Face & Dark Diagonal Stripes • Genuine Pistol Shrimp Partnership • Beginner-Friendly Marine Fish

📋 The Hi Fin Red Banded Goby , also known as the Striped Goby, Blackray Shrimp Goby, or Filament-Finned Prawn Goby, has a genuinely elegant silver-white body with a yellow face, distinct dark diagonal stripes, and a tall, elongated dorsal fin filament.

Native to a genuinely wide range across the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean, from the Seychelles to the Philippines and Bali, this species is genuinely known from deep coastal reef slopes and sand flats, typically observed in pairs hovering just above the substrate near their burrow.

A genuinely charming natural partnership defines this species: it forms a real symbiotic relationship with pistol shrimp of the genus Alpheus, sharing a burrow the shrimp maintains and continually digs, while the goby keeps watch and alerts its nearly blind partner to danger. It's fully reef safe, genuinely peaceful, and not aggressive toward other shrimp gobies, sometimes even sharing a burrow with another species. We want to be honest that it's genuinely a documented jumper, so a secure, tight-fitting lid matters, and it's best kept as a genuine male-female pair rather than randomly combining two individuals, which may turn out to both be male and fight.
