⚠️ Important Information — Please Read First

We want to be genuinely upfront on this one. This species can genuinely be difficult to feed, and in reef systems without a genuinely well-established, mature sand bed rich in natural microfauna, it may not get enough to eat and can slowly starve over time. Please only introduce this species to a genuinely mature, biologically established tank, and monitor its body condition closely, especially in the first few months.

📋 The Long Finned Sleeper Goby, also known as the Striped Sleeper Goby or Teardrop Goby, has a genuinely attractive torpedo-shaped, pearly white body marked with horizontal black, orange, and neon green dashes and dots running its length, including across the head.

Native to a genuinely wide range across the Indo-Pacific, this species inhabits rubble zones and sandy lagoon reefs, spending nearly all its time sifting mouthfuls of sand through its gills to filter out small crustaceans and worms.

This is a genuinely valuable natural sand-bed cleaner, helping to aerate the substrate and manage nuisance cyanobacteria, though we want to be honest that in doing so, it may leave small mounds of substrate throughout the tank. It's genuinely shy when first introduced, becoming bolder over time, and can be territorial toward its own kind unless a genuine confirmed pair. It's considered reef safe with caution — it won't harm corals, but will genuinely eat bristleworms and other desirable infaunal invertebrates in live sand. We want to be honest that it's also a genuine jumper, so a secure, tight-fitting lid matters.
