📋 The Pinkbar Shrimp Goby, also known as the Pinkbar Goby or simply the Shrimp Goby, has a genuinely striking silver body marked with pink rings, and a yellowish tail decorated with bright pink dots outlined in blue.
Native to the Western Indian Ocean, this species inhabits reef environments at depths of roughly 5 to 40 metres, though usually not deeper than 10 metres.
A genuinely charming natural partnership defines this species: it forms a real, specific commensal relationship with the pistol shrimp Alpheus randalli, sharing a burrow the shrimp digs and maintains, while the goby watches for danger. It's genuinely a hardy, popular choice for both novice and experienced hobbyists, feeding mostly on prey suspended in the water column, though it will also pick food from the substrate.
