🐠 Blue & Gold Damsel (Pomacentrus coelestis)

Marine Reef-Safe Nano Damselfish • Electric Blue Upper Body With Bright Yellow Lower Half • Genuinely Vivid Two-Tone Colouration • Beginner-Friendly Marine Fish

📋 The Blue & Gold Damsel , also known as the Electric Blue Damsel or Neon Damselfish, has a genuinely vivid two-tone body — an intense electric blue upper half meeting bright yellow across the lower half and tail, with the exact proportion of yellow genuinely varying between individual fish.

Native to a genuinely wide range across the Indo-Pacific, including the Great Barrier Reef and Fiji, this species inhabits coral reefs and shallow lagoons, darting in and out of rockwork and crevices throughout the day.

This is genuinely one of the hardiest, most popular damselfish in the trade, and a great first fish for a new marine aquarium given its resilience. We want to be honest, though: it can genuinely be aggressive and territorial once established, particularly toward similarly sized fish and new tank additions, so it's genuinely best introduced later in your stocking order rather than as one of the first fish. It's fully reef safe and won't bother corals or invertebrates, and does best kept singly, or in a genuine small-to-medium group of six or more introduced simultaneously to help spread out territorial behaviour.
