📋 The Two Stripe Damsel, also known as the Reticulate Dascyllus, Reticulated Damselfish, or 2-Stripe Damselfish, has a shimmering silver-green body with two dark bands encircling the front half and another before the blue-green tail.
It comes from the Indo-Pacific, inhabiting coral reef environments and commonly found off the coast of Indonesia and the wider West Pacific. Every Two Stripe Damsel we ship is feeding well.
This species is cute and peaceful as a juvenile, but matures into one of the more territorial members of the entire Dascyllus genus, so it's worth planning for the adult temperament from the start rather than being surprised by it later. This species is one of the easiest fish to keep, quickly accepting flake and pellet foods, and does well housed with other similarly assertive fish able to hold their own. It's fully reef safe, and won't harm invertebrates or disturb corals, though it can become quite belligerent toward tankmates as it matures. It reaches up to 9cm, so a 115L tank suits it well.
