🐠 Smith's Damsel (Pomacentrus smithi)

Marine Reef-Safe Nano Damselfish • Pink-Peach Body Developing a Blue-Purple Hue Around the Eyes • Genuinely Calmer Than Many Damselfish • Beginner-Friendly Marine Fish

📋 The Smith's Damsel, also known as the Pink Smith Damsel, has a genuinely eye-catching peach-to-pink body that develops a real blue-to-purple hue around the eyes and face as it matures, with a silvery-white undertone.

Native to the Indo-Pacific region, specifically the waters around Indonesia and the Philippines, this species inhabits coral reefs and rocky areas with plenty of hiding spots among crevices and corals.

This is genuinely one of the calmer damselfish species available, and while it can display territorial behaviour, particularly in smaller tanks, it's genuinely less aggressive than many of its relatives, especially when kept in larger tanks with structured rockwork. It's fully reef safe, and genuinely coexists peacefully with a wide range of tank mates, including clownfish, cardinalfish, wrasses, and tangs, and is safe with invertebrates such as hermit crabs, snails, and cleaner shrimp. We want to be honest that it's genuinely uncommon in the aquarium trade, and while a single specimen does well in smaller tanks, groups genuinely require more space to reduce territorial disputes, with three or more distributing aggression and creating a natural schooling display in larger setups.
