🐠 Blue Sapphire Damsel (Chrysiptera springeri)

Marine Reef-Safe Damselfish • Vibrant Electric Blue Body With Black Fin Outlines • Genuine Threat-Response Colour Shift • Beginner-Friendly Marine Fish

📋 The Blue Sapphire Damsel , also known as Springer's Demoiselle or Springer's Damsel, has a genuinely vibrant electric blue body, with fins genuinely outlined in black, and a colour pattern that's naturally variable between individuals.

Native to the Western Pacific, including Indonesia, the Philippines, and the Solomon Islands, this species inhabits shallow tropical reef areas.

A genuinely fascinating natural defence: this species can rapidly shift its vivid blue colouration to a darker, duller tone to help it blend in and evade predators when threatened. It's also genuinely known to eat flatworms, making it a welcome natural pest controller in an established reef tank.

This is a genuinely hardy species and a great choice for beginners. We want to be honest that, like many Chrysiptera damsels, it becomes increasingly territorial and can be aggressive toward slower-moving tank mates as it matures. It's fully reef safe and safe with corals and invertebrates, though genuinely providing plenty of live rock with multiple hiding places helps reduce territorial disputes, especially if housing more than one damselfish species together.
