📋 Talbot's Damselfish, also known as Talbot's Demoiselle, has an elegant, understated appearance, a soft lavender-to-pale-purple body with a bright yellow face and tail, and a subtle dark spot near the dorsal fin. The species name honours fisheries scientist Frank H. Talbot, a former director of the Australian Museum in Sydney.
It comes from a wide range across the Indo-Pacific, including the Coral Sea, Indian Ocean, and Fiji, inhabiting shallow coral reefs and lagoons at depths from 3 to 35 metres. Every Talbot's Damselfish we ship is feeding well.
This is one of the calmer, more manageable members of the Chrysiptera genus, a favourite among hobbyists for its relatively gentle temperament compared to typically much feistier damselfish relatives. That said, like most damsels, it can become more territorial with age, particularly toward its own species or similarly sized fish, so careful tankmate selection still matters. It's fully reef safe and won't disturb corals or invertebrates, and its small size and hardy nature make it a great fit for nano and community reef tanks alike. It reaches up to 6.5cm, so a 75L tank suits it well.
