🐠 Talbot's Damselfish (Chrysiptera talboti)

Marine Reef-Safe Nano-Friendly Damselfish • Soft Lavender Body With Yellow Face & Tail • Genuinely One of the Most Peaceful Damsels • Beginner-Friendly Marine Fish

📋 Talbot's Damselfish , also known as Talbot's Demoiselle, has a genuinely elegant, understated appearance — a soft lavender-to-pale-purple body with a bright yellow face and tail, and a subtle dark spot near the dorsal fin.

Native to a genuinely wide range across the Indo-Pacific, including the Coral Sea, Indian Ocean, and Fiji, this species inhabits shallow coral reefs and lagoons at depths from 3 to 35 metres. The species name honours fisheries scientist Frank H. Talbot, a former director of the Australian Museum in Sydney.

This is genuinely one of the calmer, more manageable members of the Chrysiptera genus, sometimes affectionately nicknamed among hobbyists as one of the best reef damsels for its relatively gentle temperament compared to typically much feistier damselfish relatives. That said, we want to be honest: like most damsels, it can genuinely become more territorial with age, particularly toward its own species or similarly sized fish, so careful tank mate selection still matters. It's fully reef safe and won't disturb corals or invertebrates, and its genuinely small size and hardy nature make it a great fit for nano and community reef tanks alike.
