🐠 Tracey's Damsel (Chrysiptera traceyi)

Marine Reef-Safe Nano Damselfish • Regal Purple Anterior Fading to Canary-Yellow With Warm Pink & Orange Accents • Genuinely a Rare, Recently Discovered Species • Beginner-Friendly Marine Fish

📋 The Tracey's Damsel, also known as Tracey's Damselfish or Tracey's Demoiselle, has a genuinely exhilarating combination of regal purple colouration that transitions to a rich canary-yellow toward the tail, accented by gradations of warm pink and orange reminiscent of a sunset.

Native to lagoon and seaward reefs across the Western Pacific, including the Marshall Islands, Fiji, Guam, and Palau, this species is genuinely found singly or in pairs at depths down to 40 metres.

We want to share a genuinely fascinating fact: this is a real relative newcomer to the aquarium trade, only having been imported for the first time relatively recently, and under royal blue LED lighting, its purple-and-yellow colouration genuinely resembles an oddly shaped Royal Gramma. This is genuinely a hardy, easy-to-care-for damselfish that will typically ignore other fish, invertebrates, and corals, though we want to be honest that it can display genuine territorial behaviour toward its own kind or similarly sized fish. It's fully reef safe, and does best kept in small, odd-numbered groups for a truly impressive display, given adequate tank space.
