📋 Bartlett's Anthias, also known as Bartlett's Fairy Bass, shows striking differences between the sexes: males have a more intense violet-to-magenta body with vivid yellow running along the back through the upper tail lobe, while females are a softer lavender-pink with a yellow dorsal edge and tail. Both sexes share the graceful, flowing swimming motion anthias are known for, with bright blue lines edging the tail fin.
It comes from reef slopes across the Central Pacific, particularly around the Marshall Islands, where it forms large aggregations above coral outcroppings. It's one of the hardier anthias once settled in, and every Bartlett's Anthias we ship is feeding well, with a careful, unhurried introduction to your tank helping it settle in at its best.
It's fully reef safe and won't harm corals or invertebrates. Keep it as a small group of one male with three to five females, or singly, since two males together can lead to serious aggression. It reaches up to 9cm, so plan on at least 265L for one fish, and 470L or more for a group.
