The Sunset Anthias is genuinely collected from meaningfully deep water, typically 45 to 60 metres (150-200 feet), and multiple sources report that in brightly lit reef tanks, this species can become extremely shy, genuinely difficult to feed, and may struggle to acclimate successfully at all. Dim, moderate lighting is genuinely important, not optional, for this species — please speak with our team about your tank's lighting setup before purchasing.
 
📋 The Sunset Anthias , also known as the Diadem or Shortsnout Anthias, has a genuinely warm blend of orange, pink, and yellow tones, with males typically showing a yellowish-pink body with red along the upper back and tail, and females displaying an overall softer yellow with a distinctive pink diamond pattern on the head.
Native to a genuinely wide range across the Indo-West Pacific, from the Maldives to the Solomon Islands, Japan, and Australia, this species inhabits coastal and outer reef slopes, forming small groups that feed on zooplankton in the current.
This species is genuinely rarely seen in the trade given its deep-water collection. It's fully reef safe and does best kept as a harem of one male with several females, or singly, and should genuinely be introduced only after all other tank mates are settled, since it needs a genuinely calm, established environment to thrive.
