🐠 Clarkii Clownfish (Amphiprion clarkii)

Marine Reef-Safe Anemonefish • Hardy Beginner Saltwater Fish • Active Mid-Level Swimmer • Anemone Host Species

📋 The Clarkii Clownfish (Amphiprion clarkii) is one of the largest and hardiest anemonefish species available in the aquarium trade, known for its bold personality, adaptable nature, and striking black-and-white banded body with a vibrant yellow to orange tail and fins.

Native to the Indo-Pacific, from the Red Sea and East Africa through to Southeast Asia and northern Australia, Clarkii Clownfish are among the most widely distributed anemonefish in the wild — a range reflected in their exceptional tolerance for varying reef conditions.

Naturally curious and confident, Clarkii Clownfish will readily host in a wide variety of anemone species, more so than almost any other clownfish, though they adapt just as well to life without an anemone in a well-decorated reef or fish-only tank. Their hardiness and relatively low aggression toward similarly sized tank mates make them an excellent entry point into marine fishkeeping.

With stable water conditions and appropriate tank mates, they thrive as a Hardy Beginner Marine Display Fish.
