📋 The Picasso Percula Clownfish is a striking designer variant of the true Percula Clownfish, named for the way its white bars distort into irregular, almost hand-painted shapes, blobbing, forking, merging, or breaking into isolated patches rather than forming the classic clean three-bar pattern. The base bright orange colouration stays normal; it's purely the white barring that's disrupted, and no two fish look quite alike.
This designer pattern doesn't occur reliably in the wild and is the result of selective captive breeding from Percula Clownfish bloodlines, which naturally inhabit sheltered reefs across the Western Pacific and Great Barrier Reef. Every Picasso Percula Clownfish we ship is feeding well. Pattern grade varies between individuals: a premium specimen shows bold, dramatic distortion across all three bars, while a lower-grade fish might show just a slightly irregular middle stripe.
In every other respect, this variant shares the same hardiness, peaceful temperament, and beginner-friendly care as a standard Percula Clownfish. It's fully reef safe and won't harm corals or invertebrates, and it will readily host in a range of anemone species if offered, though it adapts just as well without one. It reaches up to 8cm, so a 75L tank suits it well.
