🐠 Frostbite Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris)
Marine Reef-Safe Captive-Bred Designer Clownfish • White Body With Black Edging & Scattered Buckshot Markings • Genuine Selectively-Bred Variant • Beginner-Friendly Marine Fish
📋 The Frostbite Clownfish is a genuine designer variant of the Ocellaris Clownfish, selectively bred by crossing two other designer lines, the Wyoming White and Snowflake Clownfish. This variant genuinely does not occur naturally in the wild.
It has a genuinely striking, mostly white body with bold black fin edging and scattered, irregular "buckshot" markings that vary from fish to fish, often developing a soft icy-blue tint as the fish matures.
As a genuinely captive-bred fish, the Frostbite Clownfish is hardier, more disease-resistant, and easier to acclimate than wild-caught clownfish, and never enters the ocean. It's fully reef safe, genuinely hardy, and lives peacefully with gobies, blennies, chromis, wrasses, and most reef-safe invertebrates, though we want to be honest that mild territorial behaviour can appear during pairing or when defending a preferred spot. Like all clownfish, this species is genuinely a protandrous hermaphrodite — all individuals begin life as males, with the most dominant fish in a pair transitioning to female. It doesn't require a host anemone to thrive, though it will readily host in one, such as a Bubble Tip Anemone, if available.
