📋 The Percula Clownfish is the classic, most recognisable clownfish in the marine aquarium hobby, prized for its vivid orange body, three bold white bands outlined in black, and confident, endearing personality that has made it a longstanding favourite for both beginner and experienced marine keepers alike.
It comes from shallow lagoon and reef environments across the Western Pacific, from Papua New Guinea and the Great Barrier Reef through parts of Southeast Asia, living in close symbiosis with select host anemone species on the reef. Every Percula Clownfish we ship is feeding well.
It's naturally hardy and adaptable, and will readily host in a range of anemone species if offered, though it adapts just as well to life without one in a well-decorated reef or fish-only tank, often adopting a coral head, powerhead, or piece of rockwork as a substitute territory. Its manageable adult size and a hardiness make it one of the most reliable entry points into marine fishkeeping. It's fully reef safe. It reaches up to 8cm, so a 75L tank suits it well.
