🐠 Orange Skunk Clownfish (Amphiprion sandaracinos)

Marine Reef-Safe Anemonefish • Bright Orange Body With a Broad White Mid-Dorsal Stripe • Genuine Naming Overlap Considerations • Beginner-Friendly Marine Fish

📋 We want to be genuinely upfront about identification: this species is genuinely often confused with the closely related, similarly named Skunk Clownfish (Amphiprion akallopisos). Both share a mid-dorsal stripe and lack head or body bars, but this species is genuinely a brighter, more vivid orange, and its white stripe reaches the upper lip, while the Skunk Clownfish's stripe is paler and narrower, stopping short of the lip.

📋 The Orange Skunk Clownfish, also known as the Orange Anemonefish, has a genuinely vivid orange body with a broad white stripe running from the top of the head to the rear of the dorsal fin.

Native to a genuinely wide range across the Indo-Pacific, this species inhabits lagoons and outer reefs at depths of roughly 3 to 25 metres, and is genuinely a host specialist, favouring primarily the Merten's Carpet Anemone, and occasionally the Sebae Anemone.

This is a genuinely peaceful, hardy species, often described as one of the more timid clownfish, and does well kept in pairs, with the largest individual becoming the terminal female. It's fully reef safe and captive-bred specimens genuinely don't require a host anemone to thrive, readily accepting most prepared aquarium foods. We want to be honest that if a hosting anemone is offered, this species can become genuinely somewhat aggressive toward other species in defence of its home, and large females can be aggressive toward closely related or similar species.
