⚠️ Important Information — Please Read First

We want to be genuinely upfront on this one. This species reaches a substantial adult size of up to 30cm (12"), and its genuinely powerful jaws can inflict serious damage on tank equipment. Please plan for a genuinely large, dedicated tank from the outset, and consider equipment placement carefully.

📋 The Immaculate Pufferfish, also known as the Yellow-Eyed Puffer or Immaculatus Puffer, has a genuinely understated, elegant appearance — a pale grey-to-tan body without the bold spots or stripes typical of many Arothron relatives, offset by bursts of yellow on the lips, iris, and caudal fin.

Native to a genuinely wide range across the Indo-West Pacific, from the Red Sea and East Africa to Indonesia and southern Japan, this species inhabits mangrove swamps, sea grass beds, and reef flats.

This is a genuinely one of the hardier pufferfish available in the trade, disease-resistant and quick to adapt to captive conditions. It's genuinely personable and interactive, learning to recognise its keeper over time. We want to be honest that this species is genuinely a slow, deliberate swimmer, and should not be housed with aggressive, fin-nipping fish such as groupers, dottybacks, triggerfish, or angelfish. We want to be upfront: this species is not reef safe, and will genuinely consume virtually any invertebrate in the tank, including ornamental shrimp, crabs, snails, sea stars, sponges, and even tridacnid clams, and may nip the fins of slow tank mates or graze on stony corals.
